What is colon hydrotherapy?
Colon hydrotherapy, colon irrigation, and colonics all describe the cleansing of the colon and are often used interchangeably.
Colon hydrotherapy is a safe, effective method of removing toxic waste from the large intestine without the use of drugs. By allowing gravity-fed, filtered, warm water into the colon, the waste is then able to be gently flushed from the body while relaxing in a private, supportive setting.
What does a colonic session entail?
All clients will need to fill out an intake form prior to receiving colonic services.
A colonic session takes 45 minutes (40 minutes of cleansing and 5 minutes for draining). We plan for one full hour in the colonic room to allow time to get situated on the device & time to get dressed afterwards.
Clients lay on a colonic device allowing gravity flow water to be instilled into the colon via a disposable one-time use plastic rectal nozzle, which helps waste material to be evacuated through a drain line (attached to the device) and into the sewer. Clients are properly draped during sessions, protecting modesty at all times. Our therapist is I-ACT certified and here to assist clients with colonic sessions.
What type of colonic device do you use?
We have a LIBBE (Lower Intestinal Bottom Bowel Evacuation) device, which is an FDA registered Class 2 medical device that allows filtered and UV purified water to be instilled into the colon at a safe, gentle flow rate. This colonic irrigation system enables the pressure, temperature, and flow of the water to be controlled. There is a separate vent line that eliminates any potential odors. The LIBBE is comfortable and allows the patient the simple release of the contents of the colon during a 45-minute session. The LIBBE is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized with hospital grade disinfectants before and after each colonic session.
What are the potential benefits of colon hydrotherapy?
Colon hydrotherapy may be helpful if you suffer from the following: constipation, indigestion, allergies, acne, irregularity, psoriasis, chronic diarrhea, fatigue, depression, gas, bloating, eczema, irritability, low energy, insomnia, candida, slow metabolism, vitamin/nutrient absorption problems, headaches, backaches, bad breath, body odor, sciatic pain, and so much more...
When is colon hydrotherapy contraindicated?
A contraindication is an indication or symptom that makes it inadvisable to use a particular therapy.
If any of the following contraindications apply to you, we are unable to see you as a colon hydrotherapy client unless you have a written prescription from a Doctor showing supervision over our services.

How should I prepare for a colonic?
-
Be sure to hydrate and drink plenty of water- at least your daily recommended intake which is half your weight in ounces (so if you weigh 150 lbs, you should drink at least 75 ounces of water every day).
-
It is important to avoid eating food two hours prior to your colonic so you will have an empty stomach for your session.
-
In the same 24 hour period prior to your colonic, eat lightly and avoid caffeinated and alcoholic beverages if possible (since they are dehydrating).
Will everything in my colon be eliminated during a colonic?
Many of us have a considerable amount of impacted waste in our colon due to many different lifestyle factors. So the contents of the bowel are typically not entirely released during a first session. Second and subsequent colonics will likely release more material as your body tunes into releasing and the colon muscles become more toned and hydrated. Therefore we highly recommend all first time clients and those who have not had a colonic recently to do two sessions within a 48-hour period for the best results. Occasionally after the first colonic, people experience a headache or bloating, depending on their level of toxicity.
What should I do after a colonic?
-
Be sure to continue to drink plenty of liquids - alkaline water is most ideal plus fresh vegetable juice, herbal tea, electrolyte drinks such as coconut water, and soup. No pop, coffee, alcohol, or sugary sweets.
-
Take daily probiotic supplements/beverages and eat cultured vegetables to put more friendly bacteria in your body.
-
Follow proper food combining rules to reduce gas and aid in digestion.
-
Reduce raw food & meat consumption for 24 hours, as these foods are difficult to digest.
-
Avoid strenuous exercise immediately afterward, but continue staying active and exercising.
-
Observe your body’s reaction to the colonic; the energy you feel, the foods you gravitate toward, the thoughts you have. Be aware that emotional energy is also moved during a colonic.
-
Try taking a detox bath the evening of your colonic to help continue the detox process by pulling toxins out through the skin as well. We suggest adding Epsom salts and raw apple cider vinegar to the bath water.
-
Note that your normal elimination pattern may be slowed down after a colonic session. To assist in speeding up the elimination, we offer product suggestions specifically geared to help you with this. Adding raw apple cider vinegar to your drinking water may also be helpful.
How often should I get a colonic?
After your first colonic session, you can discuss future session recommendations with the therapist and a personalized maintenance plan will then be determined. In order to bring the body back into balance, many clients benefit from doing a series of anywhere from 6-12 colonics. A recommended protocol is 2 the first week, 2 the second week and once a week for 2-8 more weeks. Doing a long-term series of colonics helps to slow detoxification to a more gentle and tolerable rate.
It also depends on your toxicity level. One or two colonics might be all you need to recover from minor health concerns. However, overcoming lifelong constipation or a more serious illness and achieving vital health may require regular colonics for some time. Remember that it took years to create your current body condition, so it will not be repaired overnight. Certain lifestyle changes may also be needed along with the colonics.
What is our punctuality policy?
We are typically unable to fully accommodate a late client. If you are late for your appointment, you will still be responsible for the full payment even if we are forced to shorten your session or reschedule your appointment. With this in mind, please leave a generous amount of time for traffic irregularities.
What is the policy on our services & packages?
Our services & packages are non-refundable and non-transferable. The number of colonics in your package determines the number of months the package is viable. For example; a package of 3 colonics expires in 3 months, a package of 6 colonics expires in 6 months, etc. This is because it is ideal to do colonics closer in succession for the best results and we only want the best for our clients.
What is our Cancelation policy?
Please keep in mind that last-minute cancelations leave us with an empty appointment slot that could have been filled by another client. So in the event that you need to cancel an appointment, as a courtesy to your Therapist and other clients wanting to get scheduled, please provide at least a 24-hour notice.
In order to encourage clients to cancel appointments in a timely manner,
ALL appointments are required to be held with a credit card. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
Canceling less than 24-hours in advance or not showing up for your appointment will result in an automatic charge of a cancelation fee for the full value of the service scheduled. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
Please note: You will still be required to pay the cancelation fee even if you have a voucher, prepaid package, or gift certificate/card. NO EXCEPTIONS!! (We will not redeem, nor deduct any sessions from your voucher, coupon, prepaid package, or gift certificate/card.)
If for some reason we are unable to charge your card, it will be noted in your file & you will still be required to pay the Cancelation fee prior to any future appointments at Aqua Bliss Colonics. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
While our policies may seem strict, it's only because our time is very valuable and we greatly appreciate your understanding in this matter. We sincerely thank you for supporting locally owned small businesses because we depend on you to make a living!
